Enlisted in 1904 and is recorded in 1911 as being stationed with 2nd Battalion The Queens Regiment of Infantry ATH Companies, Gibraltar. Served in France and was wounded 25 September 1915 and was later awarded the Military Cross for this action. Killed in Action 15 September 1916 on the Somme. Buried in Flatiron Copse Cemetery, Mametz, Somme, France (GR VII. I. 2.). Memorial at St Bartholomew's.

The Royal Marine Medal Roll record states that he enlisted 5 October 1916 and embarked with the Royal Marine Brigade 15 December 1916. He had influenza in early 1917 and rejoined 1st Royal Marine Battalion 9 July 1917. He was shot in the right shoulder 26 October 1917 and invalided back to Britain 28 October 1917. Rejoined 1st Royal Marine Battalion 11 September 1918. Wounded again 9 October 1918 and died from a bullet wound to the head in 29th Casualty Clearing Station (accidentally shot by temporary Sub-Lieutenant Faulkner at 8am 9/10/18). Buried at Del Saux Farm Cemetery, Beugny, Pas de Calais, France. Memorial at St Cross Chapel.

Served in France and was wounded 25 September 1915 and was later awarded the Military Cross for this action. Killed in Action 15 September 1916 on the Somme. Buried in Flatiron Copse Cemetery, Mametz, Somme, France (GR VII. I. 2.). Memorial at St Bartholomew's.

Son of William and Florence Ann Hounslow of 30, Brassey Road. Born at Wareham, Dorset in 1888. In 1901 he was a Milk Boy. Enlisted at Winchester and served on the Western Front. Wounded once and received the Military Medal. Died of Wounds at Etaples 5 August 1917. Buried in Etaples Military Cemetery (GR XX. L. 4A.). Memorials at St Matthew's and St Paul’s.

Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France (PR Pier and Face 13 A and 13 B.). Memorial at St Bartholomew's.

HUNT, Frank Edward, Private, CH/1696-S-, 1st RM Bn RN Div. Royal Marine Light Infantry, d. 10 October 1918 aged 20.
Son of Frances Edward and Kate Maria Hunt of 34, Kingsgate Road. Born 1898. In 1911 he was a Newsboy at the school where his father worked. Served on the Western Front. The Royal Marine Medal Roll record states that he enlisted 5 October 1916 and embarked with the Royal Marine Brigade 15 December 1916. He had influenza in early 1917 and rejoined 1st Royal Marine Battalion 9 July 1917. He was shot in the right shoulder 26 October 1917 and invalided back to Britain 28 October 1917. Rejoined 1st Royal Marine Battalion 11 September 1918. Wounded again 9 October 1918 and died from a bullet wound to the head in 29th Casualty Clearing Station (accidentally shot by temporary Sub-Lieutenant Faulkner at 8am 9/10/18). Buried at Del Saux Farm Cemetery, Beugny, Pas de Calais, France. Memorial at St Cross Chapel.
